Program Overview

Pre-K 4 SA is a visionary initiative and citywide movement for the future of San Antonio, supported by business leaders, city officials, and a Board of Directors who believe that access to high-quality pre-kindergarten education can make a positive change in one generation.

This initiative is developing a more productive workforce, healthier and more engaged families, less poverty, and civic-minded young adults to take San Antonio into the future.

Expand access to affordable, high-quality prekindergarten for all 3- and 4-year-olds in San Antonio.

Program Results

So far, Pre-K 4 SA has:

  • Served over 12,000 young learners in the education centers.
  • Provided professional learning to 21,000+ early learning teachers who work with 400,000+ young children by the end of 2021.
  • Awarded over $4.2 million in grants annually to local private, parochial and public schools throughout the city to increase access to high-quality early childhood learning.
  • Engaged in 10,000 family interactions per year; 72,890 through the end of Year 9.
