Why Pre-K 4 SA

Our Method

Pre-K 4 SA follows the HighScope whole-child approach. It hinges on consistent routine and purposeful play that nurtures children’s learning and thinking. While the children think they are just playing, they are actually developing social-emotional and cognitive skills as well as an understanding of literacy, language, math, and science concepts — all critical to both school and life success.

Whole-Child Approach in Action

The comprehensive whole-child approach allows children to deepen their natural curiosity and eagerness for discovery by providing them with a safe and trusting learning environment, supporting their interests and abilities, and promoting the importance of indoor and outdoor activities.

Plan. Do. Review.

The most important segment of the daily routine is the plan-do-review sequence, in which children make decisions about what they will do, carry out their ideas, and reflect upon their activities with adults and other children. These higher-level thinking skills are linked to the development of executive functions needed to succeed in school and life.

The Benefits

a row of colorful dots

Research shows that one of the most important benefits of high-quality early childhood education is the development of executive function — the brain processes that allow us to get things done. Executive function is tied to long-term academic success, better behavior, improved health, better decision-making, and career success.
