Pre-K 4 SA’s Gracias San Antonio Online Art Auction

Pre-K 4 SA students say “Gracias, San Antonio,” with an online auction this year to benefit St. PJ’s Children’s Home.

About Gracias San Antonio
Pre-K 4 SA’s Gracias San Antonio: Children Are Citizens Project is grounded in the belief that children are not just future citizens but are citizens today. The Gracias initiative reflects the educational philosophy, focus on civic education, and the strong commitment Pre-K 4 SA has to the San Antonio community.

Gracias begins with the children’s participation in a program-wide election in November to vote on a local non-profit to support for the academic year. Children learn that their voice counts and through the art they create, they are able to support the chosen organizations and give back to the community.

Children and families engage in City Explorations throughout the year by visiting different places around San Antonio. Local artists join children in the classroom to create authentic art pieces using a variety of artistic mediums to express the children’s perspective of their city and the places they visit.

The children’s art pieces are then displayed in an online art auction. In the spirit of helping others all pieces will be auctioned, and proceeds will be used to support St. PJ’s Children’s Home.
