Within the first 8 years, $21 Million Awarded to Programs Throughout the City
Pre-K 4 SA is changing the educational landscape of San Antonio by investing in established early childhood programs in the city. Within the first 8 years, Pre-K 4 SA will have awarded $21 million and supported over 13,000 children. Our grant funds help these programs serve additional students and improve the educational experience by providing materials, equipment, staff and services for teachers, students and their families.
Improve Quality. Increase Access.
Pre-K 4 SA grants are earmarked to help in two fundamental areas. Funds awarded go towards increasing access to current programs by helping centers extend the length of their school day or serve additional students. Funds can also improve educational quality by providing materials, equipment, and services for teachers, students and families.

Pre-K 4 SA’s mission to change the trajectory of education in San Antonio through high-quality early childhood education means assisting other existing programs to reach new heights in their educational offerings. By the end of the 8-year referendum, Pre-K 4 SA will have awarded $21 million and supported over 13,000 children.

Our Competitive Grant Program will continue to award more funds to early learning programs across the city, and together we can close the gap so that all San Antonio families can afford high-quality prekindergarten. Pre-K 4 SA grants ensure the expansion and enhancement of programs across the city to provide San Antonio children citywide the early start they need for future success.
