Changing the Landscape of Education in San Antonio

Securing our City’s Future

Pre-K 4 SA is supported by city leaders and a Board of Directors who have a passion for education and a belief that together we can make a positive change in one generation to:

  • Improve a workforce to help secure out future economy, as well as opportunities of citizens,
  • Decrease poverty, and
  • Strengthen family and civic engagement

After the program’s first 8 years, research shows that the key to making positive changes in our city is in ensuring citywide access to high quality pre-kindergarten education.

Preschool Changes Futures

Economic studies show that investment in early childhood education shows high returns and directly influences economic, health and social outcomes later in life. There are proven direct links between high quality early education and academic achievement, improved social behavior, health, decision-making and career success.

It’s not simply prekindergarten that makes the difference. It must be a quality program that helps form a child’s critical thinking skills, decision making ability and ignites the joy of planning, doing and reviewing before age 5.

A San Antonio Program

The comprehensive Pre-K 4 SA program is wide reaching in order to obtain our goal of providing high-quality preschool to all young learners in San Antonio within one generation. While many people are familiar with our four education centers, there are four pillars to our program.

Will have served over 12,000 young learners in the education centers.
