Pre-K 4 SA’s 2024 Fiesta Medal Celebrates 10 Years of Serving San Antonio’s Youngest Learners

a Fiesta medal celebrating the 10th anniversary of Pre-K 4 SA

Fiesta season is fast-approaching! We’re excited to unveil our 2024 Fiesta medal design, celebrating 10 years of serving San Antonio children and families.

The medal will be available for purchase for $5 at each of the four educational centers and Gardendale. Proceeds benefit DaisyCares, a nonprofit that provides pet food, funds emergency vet care, and reduces animal abuse through education and awareness.

DaisyCares was chosen by children who attend Pre-K 4 SA as part of the Gracias program, which recognizes children as citizens who contribute to San Antonio’s cultural and civic identity by partnering with local nonprofits and artists.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us and our mission to provide high-quality early education. We look forward to serving San Antonio for years to come.

Join us for a look back at some of our favorite moments from the past 10 years.

2013: Pre-K 4 SA opened our North and South Education Centers to 700 students, partnering with seven independent school districts — Edgewood, Harlandale, North East, Northside, San Antonio, Southside, and Southwest.

2014: We opened our East and West Education Centers, more than doubling the number of students served.

2015: We started inviting public, charter, private, parochial, and licensed childcare centers to apply for funds to expand or enhance existing programs.

2016: Pre-K 4 SA reached full capacity of 2,000 children served by its four educational centers and awarded $4.2 million to 16 education providers across the city.

2017: We received the H-E-B Excellence in Education Award in early childhood education and added East Central ISD as a partner school district.

2018: We launched Parents as Partners, empowering families to take an active role in their children’s pre-k experience.

2019: We opened the doors to the Gardendale Early Learning Program through our partnership with Edgewood ISD.

2020: San Antonio voters approved measures to reauthorize the program for another 8 years, and Pre-K 4 SA adds South San ISD to its list of partner school districts.

2021: In partnership with the Miss Tristan Foundation, we tested a program to increase early childhood water safety and have since rolled it out to all Pre-K 4 SA students.

2022: We welcomed 3-year-olds into our program and launched a new scholarship structure to help more families access high-quality, affordable pre-k.

2023: We partnered with HOLT Group to construct a new South Education Center which broke ground in February 2024. We also introduced Rockstar, Pre-K 4 SA’s official mascot who represents our belief that every child has a bright future when they get the quality education they deserve.
