Foundations: Introduction to Outdoor Learning

One outcome of Covid-19 has been the move towards taking instruction to the outdoors. This is a session for educators new to utilizing outdoor learning and will provide foundational ideas and techniques for increasing the amount of time students spend outdoors while at school.

From Theory to Practice: Outdoor Learning Next Steps

When thinking of outdoor learning, you consider yourself somewhat proficient, this is the session for you. This session will increase your knowledge and ability to transfer indoor classroom instruction into practical outdoor learning opportunities for children.

It’s a Family Affair: Outdoor Learning

Families can best support their children’s development through organic, daily interactions. Playing and exploring outside is a regular activity for many families. In this session, you will learn strategies to support families to engage in active learning and vocabulary development outdoors.

10:30-11:30 Session: Beyond the Playscape

General Session is for all participants.

During Beyond the Playscape participants will see the transformation of outdoor spaces and hear the process that schools have utilized to expand outdoor learning opportunities. Through a question and answer format, participants will also have an opportunity to hear from the voices of educators who have been involved in the evolution of their outdoor spaces.
