Saturday Academy: Focus on Fine Arts
The fine arts domain of the Pre-K guidelines focuses on teaching art, music, and dramatic skills. These are the very skills that help children develop oral language, problem solving strategies, and cognitive abilities. As young learners explore and actively engage in the fine arts, their physical development and social emotional competencies are also enhanced.
Please join us to explore strategies that support children’s interests and inquiry into a variety of fine arts experiences.
Participants who attend the series will be able to:
Understand the benefits of fine arts skills for children’s development and learning
Identify elements that need to be in place for the successful creation of child self-exploration opportunities
Purposefully plan for enhancing the classroom setting with authentic material for fine arts integration
Highlights:
Recommendations for tools to promote authentic exploration opportunities
Analysis of learning centers and creation of an action plan for incorporating experiences for fine art exploration
Resources provided to help participants easily incorporate fine arts into their daily routine
Four CPE hours will be given
