A Tasty Treat from Our CHEF Partnership: Dill Pickle Dip Recipe

At Pre-K 4 SA, we believe in fostering a love for nutritious, delicious foods right from the start. Our partnership with CHEF (Culinary Health Education for Families) empowers families with recipes and ideas that make healthy eating easy and fun. Today, we’re sharing one of our favorites: Dill Pickle Dip! This tangy dip is perfect for snack time, parties, or any time you’re craving something savory.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Greek Yogurt (¼ cup)
  • Garlic Powder (⅛ teaspoon)
  • Onion Powder (⅛ teaspoon)
  • Dried Dill (⅛ teaspoon)
  • Lemon (juice from half a lemon)
  • Relish (2 tablespoons)
  • Veggies and Crackers for dipping

How to Make Dill Pickle Dip

  1. Prepare Your Base
    • Start by measuring 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt and placing it into a small mixing bowl. The Greek yogurt forms the creamy base of your dip, so ensure it’s fresh and chilled.
  2. Add Seasonings
    • Sprinkle in 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/8 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1/8 teaspoon of dried dill. These spices add depth of flavor and complement the tanginess of the yogurt.
  3. Add a Zesty Kick
    • Cut a fresh lemon in half and squeeze the juice from one half into the bowl. Be sure to catch any seeds before they make their way into the mixture.
  4. Incorporate the Pickle Flavor
    • Measure out 2 tablespoons of relish and stir it into the yogurt mixture. The relish gives the dip its signature dill pickle taste and a bit of texture.
  5. Mix It All Together
    • Using a spoon or whisk, thoroughly mix all the ingredients until they are well combined and the texture is smooth. Take a moment to taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  6. Serve and Enjoy

Transfer the dip to a serving dish and arrange your favorite dipping items—such as sliced carrots, cucumber sticks, or whole-grain crackers—around it. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator until ready to enjoy.
